Meet Yudeine, a dedicated doctor from Cuba who courageously decided to migrate to the United States in search of a brighter future. Leaving behind her homeland and her medical career, Yudeine was determined to build a new life and continue her passion for healthcare in the land of opportunity.

Upon arriving in the U.S., Yudeine faced numerous challenges, including language barriers and adapting to a new healthcare system. Despite these obstacles, her determination never wavered. She discovered Workforce Advantage and enrolled in their Pathways to Recovery program, which offered her the support needed to start her career anew.

Yudeine collaborated with her case manager to develop an Individualized Employment Plan (I.E.P.), focusing on becoming a Certified Nurse Aide (C.N.A.). Workforce Advantage provided her with essential support, including language classes, transportation assistance, and a wellness kit to ensure she was ready for her new career.

Yudeine completed the Nurse Assistant Training Program through dedication and hard work and earned her state certification. Her perseverance paid off when she secured full-time employment as a C.N.A. at Complete Care at The Harborage, earning $21.50 per hour. Yudeine’s compassionate nature and strong work ethic quickly made her a valued healthcare team member.

Today, Yudeine continues to receive support from Workforce Advantage, expecting her 90-day employment retention milestone and looking forward to furthering her healthcare career. Her journey from being a doctor in Cuba to becoming a Certified Nurse Aide in the U.S. is a testament to her resilience and the power of support and opportunity.
